Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning had one more game to coach before starting his tenure in Eugene as Head Coach.
Lanning coached the national title game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide and showcased his defensive mind in the biggest game of the college football season Monday night January 10th.
The Bulldogs defense held Alabama and Heisman winner Bryce Young without a touchdown for a good portion of the game at Lucas Oil Stadium., but most importantly, Lanning’s defense recorded a title-clinching pick-6 to bring the title back to Athens. Georgia outlasted Alabama 33-18 in the College Football Playoff final.
Lanning’s final act with Georgia gave Ducks fans, coaches, players (current and former) a small taste of what he may bring to the program next season.
Time to get to work in the Pacific Northwest.
