THE ROOM SERIES: 2026 QB ROOM

Wrapping up this series room by room we conclude with the Quarterback Room. This one is the most reported on, and easiest to follow. Usually only one player is THE GUY but still, the room, has more too it than the ONE.

The 2026 Oregon Ducks quarterback room is headlined by returning starter Dante Moore (Jr.), who bypassed the NFL Draft to lead a “championship or bust” campaign. He is backed up by former 5-star Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola (Jr.), who is developing for 2027, with QB depth including Brock Thomas and Akili Smith Jr..

Key 2026 Quarterback Room Details:

  • Starter: Dante Moore returns after leading the Ducks to the 2025 College Football Playoff semifinals, entering 2026 as a potential Heisman contender.
  • Backup/Development: Dylan Raiola, a former Nebraska starter, transferred to Oregon to develop for a year behind Moore before expectedly taking the reins in 2027.
  • Depth: The room also features returning quarterback Brock Thomas and redshirt freshman Akili Smith Jr..
  • Recruiting: The Ducks are actively recruiting top 2026 QB prospects, including 4-star/5-star target Will Mencl.

This combination of an elite starter and a highly-regarded developmental backup is considered one of the best quarterback rooms in the nation.
