Schooler Out till the Stanford Game

Well, the sky has not fallen but a freak accident on a foot plant puts Brenden Schooler out for the non-conference schedule opening up some opportunities up for some other guys like Junior Johnny Johnson III taking over with starters Juwan Johnson and Jaylon Redd during camp and freshman Josh Delgado as Oregon’s backup flanker and fellow freshman Mycah Pittman, who is behind Redd at slot, who is reportedly having a tremendous start to fall camp, so let’s not cry a river of tears.

According to ESPN, Oregon senior wide receiver Brendon Schooler is expected to miss six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery Monday August 5th on his foot, according to coach Mario Cristobal.

Cristobal told reporters that the team was optimistic to get Schooler back in six weeks but that an eight-week timeline was more realistic.

“Certainly, it’s a tough one to take because of what he means to this team,” Cristobal said.

In a related story, Auburn has lost one of their star receivers too with a broken hand. Wide Receiver Anthony Schwartz is among the fastest players for the Auburn Tigers. He was injured working on drills on Sunday afternoon. On Monday he had successful surgery and will be out for some time. The Auburn Tigers do have others with experience at the Wide Receiver position, but it is clear that Schwartz was the centerpiece of the group.
